Great location and friendly staff. Rooms need renovations and air conditioning was weak.

The room was clean but had a strong weed smell upon arrival. Temperature control was an issue; it felt sweltering at first before we adjusted it. Bedding, including the pillows, appeared worn and lacked freshness. The deadbolt on the door didn’t work, worrying for safety. There were also multiple moths present, making it uncomfortable. While some decor felt dated, smoking in the room was a plus. Hot water was merely tepid, which made bathing less than ideal. Despite challenges with space and amenities, the room served its purpose for a brief stay.

The staff was friendly and quick to help us with any questions. The kids enjoyed the fun atmosphere and the arcade games available.
While it wasn't inexpensive, it still kept to a reasonable budget for what we experienced.

Great location near museums and restaurants. The hotel's interior is dated and needs maintenance. My room was clean, but the shower took forever to heat up. Staff were friendly and helpful. No on-site parking; be prepared to find alternatives. Enjoyed the beautiful view from my room.

Good location for exploring the Loop. Printer's Row is a gem. The subway is a quick five-minute walk away, which is convenient for city travel. Spacious rooms, friendly staff, and good housekeeping overall. The lobby boasts an impressive front, but the hallways need attention. Two cleanings in eight days is disappointing. The absence of daily service is unusual. I appreciate the old-world charm, yet the shabby feel is hard to ignore. Noise from renovations was disruptive; no warning at check-in. Staff at the front desk lacked warmth, impacting initial impressions. This hotel has potential but needs a thoughtful refresh. Price-wise, it’s decent, but I’ll explore other options next time.

Location is perfect for easy access to parks and attractions. Elevators were creepy; the lighting took too long to turn on.

I loved how easy it was to walk to incredible attractions like Millennium Park, the Art Institute of Chicago, and Navy Pier, all just a pleasant stroll away, plus there are so many great dining options within a few steps for delicious meals after exploring; the staff was friendly, and the common areas added a nice charm, but I did find the room a bit too hot and the beds uncomfortable.

The view of the park and lake took my breath away! The staff were so friendly and helped us get around the city with ease. Our room was clean, spacious, and the bed was super comfy – we slept like babies!
Strongly recommend! 💖🏨

Location is unbeatable—right across from Grant Park and an easy walk to everything. The historic charm is evident, especially with those high ceilings. Housekeeping was friendly, and our lake view room was quite lovely, despite a few quirks. The bathroom cleanliness could have been better, and the noise from the elevators was noticeable. A bit cramped, and the AC struggled at times, but the price was decent for what we got. Security at the entrance felt a tad excessive. Still, the overall experience had its highlights, making it a memorable stay for sure.

Congress Plaza Hotel offers a prime location near various attractions, making it convenient for visitors. The building exudes unique character, which adds charm. While the accommodations had some outdated features, the overall experience was not unpleasant. It's a decent choice for budget travelers seeking proximity to the city.

The location is perfect. The restaurant staff are friendly and the lift is faster than your coffee craving!
The decor looks tired and the noise from outside is quite loud.

It felt like a time capsule, but not the good kind—worn-out furniture, a bathroom with zero ventilation, and the shower pressure was a joke. Really disappointing!

Had a blast with my friends checking out the Second City and hitting up the Chicago beaches! So much to do and see – we never got bored. The vibe was lively and perfect for us party animals!
Would have loved to see some more late-night activities or events geared towards young party-goers. More nightlife options would totally amp up the fun factor!

The hotel has a charming historic vibe and is conveniently located near public transportation and downtown. Staying there gives you a taste of the past and a cozy spot for a good night's sleep. Plus, the rooms offer a nice view of Buckingham Fountain, adding to the experience.

Great location near train, parks, and beach. Spacious and clean rooms. Enjoyed the on-site bar and restaurant. Helpful staff and historical charm. Extra amenities like lotion, shower cap, and toothbrush.
Felt like being home, nothing to complain about.

Our room at Congress Plaza had some ups and downs. the housekeeping was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. But there were a few things that could use some improvement. The air conditioning in our room was permanently on, and it was impossible to adjust the settings, leaving us feeling constantly cold. The lack of heating control made it difficult to find a comfortable temperature. We were disappointed to find out that there were no ironing facilities in the room, which was inconvenient as we needed our clothes to be ready for an event. the carpeted floors in the room had seen better days and could have been cleaner. The outdated TV kept losing connection to channels, and the limited selection made it challenging to find something to watch. One positive aspect was the room service, which was prompt and efficient. the lack of complimentary toiletries and the cleanliness of the bathroom left something to be desired. The scent of cigarette smoke lingering in the hallways was unpleasant, and the lack of proper ventilation only made it worse. Despite these issues, the location of the hotel was excellent for exploring the city's attractions. The room itself, although outdated, had a certain charm and a good view. But the overall experience was hampered by the lack of attention to detail in terms of cleanliness and amenities.

the location is superb, offering a great view of grant park and lake michigan. the hotel has done a wonderful job of preserving its 1890s charm, and the restoration is beautiful. the room was spacious and comfortable, with high ceilings and a large, cozy bed. the valet team was incredibly helpful and friendly, and the hotel is conveniently located near the L train and various shops. overall, it was a great stay with plenty of amenities, including a coffee maker.
Nothing to complain about at all. 😊

Chicago offers a bustling city life with amazing theaters, top-notch sports venues, sun-soaked beaches, lush green parks, and a scenic lakeside jogging path.
My wife says that the hotel lacked engaging kids' activities.

Loved the lakeside view from our room and the reasonably priced drinks at the bar. Great location near city highlights, with accommodating staff allowing early check-in and late check-out without extra charges.
The room was not properly cleaned, giving the impression of a rushed job. The bed was too firm and the air conditioning unit was noisy and difficult to operate, impacting comfort during the stay.

The famous Congress Glam Slam breakfast was a delightful treat; felt like a true VIP in the Business Class Lakeview King room; enjoyed the exquisite music performances at Symphony Center Orchestra Hall.
Nothing like a musty room and uncomfortable beds to make me feel right at home! .

Our stay at this hotel was fantastic! The staff was friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze. The room was huge and comfortable, with a beautiful south-facing view of the city. The hotel's location right across from Grant Park and within walking distance of various restaurants made it convenient for us to explore the area. We also appreciated the historic decor and craftsmanship throughout the hotel, adding to its charm. it was a great choice for our one-night stay.
The shower in our room, which was not up to par. It could definitely use some improvement.

Perfect location for my plans, and the rustic charm was intriguing. I did encounter slow draining water in the shower, but overall I'll recommend this hotel.
